Strasburgo è capoluogo dell'Alsazia in Francia e del dipartimento del Basso Reno, il suo nome significa la città delle strade e trovandosi al confine con la Germania, in passato è sempre stata in bilico fra il mondo Franco e quello Germanico. La città è attraversata dall'Ill, affluente del Reno che si ramifica nel centro storico della città e scorre anche nella Petite France, un quartiere molto pittoresco con le case a graticcio affacciate sui canali.
